GNConnector Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy defines how information is processed when using the GNConnector extension for Google Chrome.
GNConnector is a local software tool. The Extension does not use the Developer's servers to collect, store, analyze, or transmit user data. Its core operations are performed locally within the browser and on the user's device.
1. Operator and Contact Information
The operator of the Extension is its developer and rights holder. Contact for privacy-related matters: feedback.mmb@gmail.com.
2. Purpose of the Extension
GNConnector is intended for local work with addresses in the .gn zone. When the Extension is
enabled, it applies a local browser PAC rule and routes such requests through the local proxy
127.0.0.1:31415, that is, through the device's loopback interface. In addition, the Extension
uses its own built-in scripts to support this mode and to maintain local aggregated technical statistics
for corresponding fetch requests.
3. Information Processed by the Extension
-
Local extension state. The browser stores the
gnEnabledvalue indicating whether the Extension is enabled or disabled. -
Local technical statistics. The browser stores the
gnStatsobject with aggregated technical metrics, including the total number of requests, successful and failed requests, total, average, minimum, and maximum duration, and the time of the last update. -
Technical request parameters in volatile memory. The Extension evaluates the URL and host
name only to the extent required to determine whether a request targets
.gnand whether local routing or metric accounting should be applied.
Full page addresses, page content, request and response bodies, and other user materials are not written to persistent storage by the Extension and are not transmitted to the Developer.
4. Information the Extension Does Not Collect or Transmit
GNConnector does not collect, store, or transmit to the Developer or third parties any page content, text entered into forms, usernames and passwords, payment data, cookies, authorization tokens, request/response bodies, user files, browsing history, tab lists, bookmarks, geolocation data, advertising identifiers, or user profiles.
The Extension does not use external analytics SDKs, advertising modules, trackers, device fingerprinting tools, or other remote telemetry mechanisms.
5. Data Transfer
GNConnector does not send information to the Developer's servers and does not transmit information to external analytics or advertising services.
When enabled, requests to .gn addresses are routed to the local address
127.0.0.1:31415. This address belongs to the device's loopback interface and is not a remote
Internet server. Accordingly, from the Extension's side, processing is performed locally.
This Policy applies to the GNConnector Extension itself. If the user separately employs an additional local proxy application or another local gateway, the data processing practices of such software are governed by its own rules and settings.
6. Chrome Permissions and Their Purpose
-
proxyis used to apply a local PAC rule and route.gntraffic through127.0.0.1:31415. -
scriptingand<all_urls>are used to register built-in content scripts on browser pages so that the mode works on new page loads and can locally determine whether a fetch request targets.gn. These scripts are not intended to collect page content or user credentials. -
storageis used solely to store the local state and local technical statistics in the user's browser.
The Extension does not request permissions for cookies, browsing history, bookmarks, geolocation, user identity services, or the tab list.
7. Data Storage
The information stored by GNConnector remains locally in chrome.storage.local on the user's
device. This information is not synchronized through the Developer's infrastructure and is not sent to the
Developer's servers. Local data remains stored until it is reset by the user, the Extension is disabled,
or the Extension is removed from the browser.
8. Security Measures
GNConnector uses only files that are included in the installed extension package. The Extension does not download or execute remote program code from the Developer's servers as part of its logic. Persistent storage is limited to the local technical parameters described in this Policy.
9. User Control
The user may enable or disable the Extension at any time and may reset local statistics through the GNConnector interface. The user may also remove the Extension from the browser. After that, any further processing of information by this Extension stops.
10. Changes to This Policy
If the functionality of GNConnector changes in a manner that affects information processing, this Policy will be updated before the relevant version of the Extension is published.
